Environmentally friendly landscape design.

Ecologically responsible and sustainable design, balancing minimum material input with maximum ecological results.

Why choose sustainable landscaping?

Responsible landscapes are not only eco-friendly: they are also low-maintenance. A sustainable garden requires minimal water, pesticides, fertilizer, labor, building materials and maintenance.

Drought-tolerant landscape design:

Also known as xeriscaping- isn’t just for hot climates. Removing plants that require supplemental water- including lawns - and replacing them with plants that can survive on their own. Using rocks and mulch to help conserve rainwater by allowing it to soak into the soil, as well as using permeable hardscapes, allows water to naturally seep into the soil and not run off.

Meet Pamela

Pamela Darling is the Horticulturist and Landscaping Contractor at Darling Gardens. She loves working with families and individuals to solve problems and craft their sustainable landscapes using native plants, creating rain gardens, permeable hardscapes, food forests and permaculture in a beautiful way that attracts birds, butterflies, and pollinators. She strives to create a plant palette that provides year-round interest.

With her Environmental Horticulture degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and 30 years of landscaping experience, Pamela Darling has helped clients craft their outdoor living spaces in a way that is ecologically friendly, resource-efficient, and resilient, while also meeting human needs. Pam works with her clients to create an artistic environment that is in balance with the local climate, and beautiful to enjoy.
